The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/programs\/iduestitle3a\/index.html\">Title III \u2013 Part A program<\/a>&nbsp;\u201chelps institutions of higher education to become self-sufficient and expand their capacity to serve low-income students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability of eligible institutions.\u201d Through these funds, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø has implemented its Soar to Success project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project-Wide Strategies<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a comprehensive review of its academic programs, institutional management, and fiscal stability, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø has identified three overarching strategies for the Soar to Success project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enhance advising processes and functions.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provide training and resource to promote effective advising and instruction.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve academic support.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Goals &amp; Strategies for Achievement<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø has identified goals in the areas of advising and coaching capabilities, faculty\/staff training and resources, student support, and fiscal stability, with specific strategies contributing to each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Improve student supports.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implement embedded tutoring programming in development math and English courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/academics\/title-iii\/supplemental-instruction\/\">Supplemental Instruction (SI) program.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/academics\/title-iii\/rise\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"700\">Retention Initiative for Student Engagement (RISE)<\/a> program, ensuring that students utilize academic supports, success coaching, and career services on an ongoing basis within a learning community\/cohort capacity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish a robust&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eastcentral.libguides.com\/technologycheckout\">laptop and hotspot internet access program<\/a>&nbsp;for students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enhance advising and coaching capabilities and functions.<\/strong> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish a holistic student support and advising model, including a focus on collaboration between&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/learning-center\/what-is-a-success-coach-meet-our-coaches\/\">Success Coaches<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/advising-and-career\/\">Academic Advisors<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hire additional staff to support a full range of student success needs, including academic preparation and advising, early alerts, retention, and course success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provide training and resources to faculty and staff.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implement professional development for technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure adequate technology and training to expand HyFlex offerings from the pilot program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance online course design and train faculty on high-impact practices for improving learning outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve fiscal stability.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish an endowment fund that will contribute to future student support activities. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet retention targets through the proposed strategies and solutions so that retention may effectively serve as a boost to enrollment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Compliance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Title III program at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is committed to strict compliance with the legislation, regulations, and guidance&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/programs\/iduestitle3a\/legislation.html\">as listed by the Department of Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Legislation<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/about\/offices\/list\/ope\/idues\/title3legislation.pdf\">Title III, Part A, Sec. 311-315<\/a>&nbsp;of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965, as amended<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/CFR-2017-title34-vol3\/xml\/CFR-2017-title34-vol3-part607.xml\">20 U.S.C. 1057-1059b<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regulations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfr.gov\/current\/title-34\/subtitle-B\/chapter-VI\/part-607\">Title 34 Part 607<\/a>&nbsp;(Code of Federal Regulations \/ CFR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/policy\/fund\/reg\/edgarReg\/edgar.html\">Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)<\/a>&nbsp;in 34 CFR parts 74, 75, 77, 79, 82, 85, 86, 97, 98, and 99.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Leadership<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jean Woodson<\/strong><br>Title III Program Coordinator<br>&nbsp;636-584-6921 |<a href=\"mailto:jean.woodson@eastcentral.edu\">&nbsp;jean.woodson@eastcentral.edu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Robyn Walter<br><\/strong>Vice President, Academic Affairs &amp; The institution has developed a Title III Steering Committee to monitor project implementation. This committee is comprised of employees from every division of the College and operates under a tri-chair model. The steering committee also consists of four subcommittees corresponding with the four primary initiatives included in the project.
