Students who have acquired technical skills may petition for credit for prior learning. Students would contact the appropriate department and meet with college officials to review their petition. If this petition is approved, the discipline or program faculty would prepare an appropriate measure (test or other instrument) of proficiency and establish with the student guidelines for passing. A fee per course will be assessed. ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø also offers community education classes. These courses are one or two days and are designed to provide children and adults with opportunities for personal and professional enrichment. They range from crocheting and hunter education to stick welding and leadership training. Here are a few examples:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HiSET Transition Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who have earned a high school equivalency diploma (HiSET) through the AEL program at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø are eligible to receive a tuition waiver of a three (3) hour college credit class at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. For a student to qualify for the incentive, a student must have completed the HiSET program or\/and exam with ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø within twelve (12) months prior to enrollment and it must be his or her first time attending any college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/finaid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/06\/HiSET-Transition-Scholarship-application.pdf\">Apply for the HiSET Transition Scholarship<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non-traditional Student Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This non-renewable award is for students over the age of 23 whose family income makes the student ineligible for need-based federal financial aid. To be eligible, the student must be enrolled in no fewer than six (6) credit hours and have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø with a 3.0 grade point average.
