ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø\u2019s AEL program offers free classes to help you prepare for high school equivalency tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Program Offerings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High School Equivalency Prep:<\/strong>&nbsp;Prepare to take the HiSET or GED to attain your high school equivalency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For Already Graduated Students:<\/strong>&nbsp;If you already have a high school diploma but want to score better on tests like the ASVAB, college entrance exams, or WorkKeys (NCRC), AEL can help you focus on specific skills to improve your scores.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Getting Started<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students must be 17 years or older, not enrolled in high school, and NOT have an F-1 visa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Register for AEL:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Phone: 636-584-6533 or 844-322-4235<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email: ael@eastcentral.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apply.eastcentral.edu\/ael\/\">AEL Registration Form<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Orientation:<\/strong>&nbsp;ALL new students are required to attend an orientation session. An introduction to our program is provided, including class requirements and information about the assessments. Orientation dates are available on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/ael\/\">AEL Home Page.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assessments:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students are required to take a skills assessment called&nbsp;<strong>Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE)<\/strong>. This opportunity is designed to support your first steps into higher education by providing financial assistance for your initial college class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong>&nbsp;You must have completed the HiSET program at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø within the last 12 months and be enrolling in college for the first time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>&nbsp;A tuition waiver for a three-hour college credit class. Note that this does not cover fees, books, or certain courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Application Process:<\/strong>&nbsp;Submit your HiSET scores along with the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Institutional Scholarship application to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HiSET and GED Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HiSET<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;Exam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The HiSET exam covers five core areas \u2013 Language Arts (Reading and Writing), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
