    MISSION STATEMENT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Empower students to develop the educational skills and knowledge needed to enrich their communities as competent HIM professionals now and in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Health Information Management (HIM) program trains students to fill a pivotal role within the medical environment \u2013 connecting clinical, operational and administrative functions. Skilled HIM professionals ensure an organization has the right information on hand when and where it is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    HIM professionals are responsible for the quality, integrity, and protection of patient\u2019s health information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What do HIM professionals do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Professionals in this field work across a vast array of positions from analytical roles to project management roles to healthcare system management including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Ensuring the accuracy, usefulness, integrity and protection of patient health information throughout a healthcare organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Applying leadership skills toward the implementation of electronic health information systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Assessing and strategically planning for healthcare data and information needs to both manage and improve the quality of clinical and business operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Managing many new and exciting operational and technology-related projects related to HIM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
