The program will educate individuals who are qualified in the use of ionizing radiation, to promote high standards of professionalism, and service to patients. The graduates of the Radiologic Technology program will enrich our communities by contributing to the service workforce by promoting high standards of professionalism, quality patient care, and safety in diagnostic medical imaging procedures in diverse healthcare settings.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø offers a program of study leading to an Associates of Applied Science degree in radiologic technology at the Rolla campus. Students learn to use computed radiography &amp; digital radiography equipment designed to record images, which aid radiologists in diagnosing and treating various health problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After program prerequisites are met, radiologic technology is a 20 month, selective program in radiography (the art and science of creating medical images using X-rays). Radiographers provide vital information to physicians to diagnose fractures, illness, disease processes, and possible malignancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Radiological Technology program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Education in Radiologic Technology. Graduates of the Radiologic Technology program will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and will be eligible for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), a national certification exam. Those who pass the exam may sign the initials RT(R) following their name to indicated that they are Registered Technologists (Radiography). **Please note that other states may have licensing or educational requirements beyond the national registry in radiography. These professionals produce X-ray films of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems. Radiologic technologists also prepare patients for exams by explaining the procedure, removing articles through which X-rays cannot pass and positioning patients appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Employment Opportunities and Salary Ranges:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The radiologic technology profession is experiencing faster-than-average job growth. Employment for radiologic technologists is projected to grow 13% from 2016-2026, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The May 2024 national average annual earnings were $77,660 with the highest earnings at $106,990.
