The curriculum centers on \u201chands-on\u201d learning in our expanded professional CNC and Machine Tool labs. Students are taught by qualified instructors who\u2019ve had working careers with Manufacturing companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program has up-to-date Computer Numerical Control machines and up-to-date Manual mills and lathes. Students earning an AAS degree will also study advanced programming CAD and Computer-Aided Manufacturing techniques. The program is accredited by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), the nation\u2019s leading manufacturing association. The association\u2019s purpose is to maintain a lead in global manufacturing skills development. Machinists are skilled workers who set up and operate machinery to produce precision tools and instruments. They can read and interpret blueprints, use common hand tools, set up and operate metal cutting machines and use precision measuring instruments. Nearly every sector of the manufacturing industry is dependent upon people with specialized machining technology training including automotive, aerospace, medical supply, furniture, metals\/metal products, plastics, and machinery. The format is subsequent progressive learning in both theory lectures and lab exercises. The curriculum centers on \u201chands-on\u201d learning in our expanded professional CNC and Machine Tool labs. Other courses include blueprint reading and CAM with student project-modeling using SolidWorks. Degree students will take additional general education courses such as math, English, written\/oral communications, and history. This certificate includes all the machining and related lab programming offered in the degree. Certificate learning includes both theory lectures and lab exercises. The format is subsequent progressive learning in both theory lectures and lab exercises. The curriculum centers on \u201chands-on\u201d learning in our expanded professional CNC and Machine Tool labs.
