Feeling stressed does not mean you\u2019re doing something wrong. It means you care, you\u2019re challenged, and you\u2019re navigating something important. The goal of stress management isn\u2019t to eliminate stress completely, but to recognize it early and use strategies that help you regain a sense of control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Test-Taking Anxiety Is Common but Manageable<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many students experience anxiety before exams. Your heart races, your thoughts spiral, and suddenly it feels harder to remember things you <em>know<\/em> you studied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This doesn\u2019t mean you aren\u2019t prepared. Anxiety often shows up when your brain perceives a situation as high-stakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coaching Tip:<\/strong><br>Feeling anxious before a test is common. The key is having tools to calm your body so your brain can do its job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Get It Out of Your Head: The \u201cWorry Dump\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One powerful way to reduce anxiety is to get your worries out of your mind and onto paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anytime stress feels overwhelming write down:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What you\u2019re worried about<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What you <em>can<\/em> control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What you <em>cannot<\/em> control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps separate fear from reality and reminds you that you don\u2019t have to solve everything at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You Don\u2019t Have to Carry Stress Alone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking through stress can be incredibly grounding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\u2019s a friend, a Success Coach, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Counselor, or another trusted person, sharing how you\u2019re feeling often makes stress feel lighter. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and remind us we\u2019re capable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coaching Tip:<\/strong> Asking for support is a strength\u2014not a setback. If you\u2019re not sure who to talk to, your Success Coach can help connect you with the <em>right<\/em> person or service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Ground Yourself in the Moment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When stress feels overwhelming, grounding techniques can help bring your focus back to the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 5\u20134\u20133\u20132\u20131 Method<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pause and notice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 things you can see<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 things you can feel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 things you can hear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 things you can smell<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 thing you can taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This technique helps slow racing thoughts and calm your nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Release Physical Tension<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stress often shows up in the body before we notice it in our thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drop your shoulders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take slow, deep breaths<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relax your jaw by taking your tongue off the roof of your mouth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These small physical shifts can reduce tension more than you might expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Smiling Actually Helps<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It might sound simple, but smiling has been shown to reduce anxiety and lower stress responses in the body. Even a small smile can signal your brain that you\u2019re safe and capable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prepare Through Visualization<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Visualization is a powerful way to prepare for stressful events like exams or presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Picture yourself on the day of the event<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imagine yourself calm, confident, and prepared<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visualize each step going smoothly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If a negative thought enters, pause and start the visualization again. Over time, this helps train your brain to expect success instead of fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Know Your Triggers and Plan for Them<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone experiences stress differently.
