General Education is an essential component of the curriculum and is a springboard for lifelong learning. General Education at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø provides for learning that educated people will use in transfer and throughout their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø\u2019s general education framework is the Missouri\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/core42\/\">CORE 42<\/a>. The framework is a 42 hour block of coursework that satisfies the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dhewd.mo.gov\/higher-education\/academic-affairs\/core-42\">Missouri Department of Higher Education General Education Core 42 Transfer<\/a>&nbsp;model. It is designed for students to obtain the basic competencies of Valuing, Managing Information, Communicating, and Higher-Order Thinking through the completion of at least 42-semester hours distributed across the broad Knowledge Areas of Communications, Humanities &amp; Fine Arts, Natural &amp; Mathematical Sciences, and Social &amp; Behavioral Sciences. Students obtain the competencies through completion of the CORE 42 in its entirety. Students graduating from ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø with an AA degree and transferring to a public baccalaureate institution in Missouri will enter the transfer institution at the junior level and will have satisfied the lower division general education requirement. Students completing their AA degree and transferring to public baccalaureate institutions are assured full acceptance of the general education coursework.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"eb-tab-wrapper\" data-tab-id=\"2\" data-tab-parent-id=\"eb-advanced-tabs-2ymyt\"><div class=\"eb-tab-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Learning Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity aqua-hr\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Program Learning Outcomes for the Associate of Arts Degree are ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø\u2019s Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs). While completing an AA degree, students will gain an understanding of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Critical Thinking<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013\u202fStudents will be able to integrate knowledge for creating solutions to novel\u202fchallenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communication<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013\u202fStudents will be able to effectively express ideas and exchange knowledge in multiple ways.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social Responsibility<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013\u202fStudents will demonstrate an understanding of social responsibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal and Professional Development<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013\u202fStudents will take responsibility for their personal and professional development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"eb-tab-wrapper\" data-tab-id=\"3\" data-tab-parent-id=\"eb-advanced-tabs-2ymyt\"><div class=\"eb-tab-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"falcon-seminar\">Falcon Seminar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity aqua-hr\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the SOAR to 2024 strategic plan, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø has designed Academic Pathways for students based on their future major and career interests. Falcon Seminar is part of each Academic Pathway and supports students through their academic journey at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Falcon Seminar is a required course for all entering students. It promotes a climate of collaboration, assists students with their academic goals, and connects students to resources they may need during their college journey at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. The primary focus of Falcon Seminar is to create a holistic experience that connects the student to the college and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of Falcon Seminar are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mentor students in building personal, professional and academic success skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect students to resources and supports available to meet their goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commit to social responsibility through involvement in extra- and co-curricular activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empower students to think critically and proactively set goals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon completion of Falcon Seminar, students will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students will demonstrate awareness of effective communication, critical thinking and goal setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will engage in activities that enhance their social responsibility through curricular and co-curricular experience at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will apply college success skills and design an education plan supporting personal and professional development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will reflect on
