Donald R. and Barbara D. Mean Library<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Donald R. and Barbara D. Means Library\u2019s mission is to support the growth of knowledge in the college and community with qualified Library staff and services; while promoting the collection with diverse displays and encouraging use of OERs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

In February 2021 ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Library was named \u201cDonald R. and Barbara D. Means Library\u201d by a unanimous vote of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees.<\/a> As a founding member of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees, Donald R. Means, and his wife Barbara, supported educational growth and civic duties in the Franklin County area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ceremony dedicating the library<\/a> as the \u201cDonald R. and Barbara D. Means Library\u201d was held on Nov. 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Means served 24 years as an ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Trustee from 1968 to 1992. During that time, he served as board secretary for 16 years and board president for four years. After his passing in August 2020 the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees and Dr. Jon Bauer, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø President, considered a way to honor his significant contributions to the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Means was a voracious reader, so the library is a natural connection,\u201d Dr. Bauer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Means was also a founding member of the Washington Rotary Club established in 1970.  He served two terms as club president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt takes a team to succeed and Don and Barbara were a team,\u201d said John Vietmeier, Washington Rotary Club, past president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
